A subdomain is part of a main domain name that can be used to organize and structure your website content. It is a way to create separate sections of your website under a unique URL.
For example, if your main domain is “example.com,” you can create a subdomain like “blog.example.com”
To create a subdomain from cPanel, you can follow these steps:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Look for the “Domains” section and Click on the “Subdomains” icon within cPanel.
- On the subdomain management page enter the desired name for your subdomain (e.g., “blog” for “blog.example.com”).
- Choose the domain you want to create the subdomain for from the drop-down menu.
- The “Document Root” field will be automatically filled based on the subdomain name you entered.
- Click the “Create” button to create the subdomain in cPanel.
Once you’ve completed these steps, your subdomain should be created and ready to use. It will create a folder for the subdomain in your public_html folder then you can upload content for that subdomain, which will be accessible via the subdomain URL you specified during the creation process.
